BROWNSDALE -- The funeral for Alice A. Klingsheim will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Donald Budd officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Klingsheim, 94, a retired teacher and formerly of Browndale, died Saturday (Nov. 14, 1998) at Burr Oak Manor Nursing Home in Austin.
Alice A. Freed was born Aug. 10, 1904, in Albia, Iowa. She moved with her family to a farm southeast of Brownsdale in 1910, then to a farm southeast of Sargeant in 1912. She attended a District 89 school and was a graduate of Hayfield High School and Mankato State Teachers College. She taught elementary grades at Wall country school and then in Sargeant and Brownsdale until her retirement. On June 2, 1956, she married Otto Klingsheim of Browndale. He died Feb. 9, 1959. Mrs. Klingsheim became a member of Sargeant United Brethren Church in 1921 and later became a member of Sargeant United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Francis Freed of Brownsdale. A brother preceded her in death.
