Serine's yngre bror Jonas reiste i 1892.
September 1924:
Det ser ut for han er blitt drept av lynnedslag i Everett ("..is Struck by Bolt in Kitchen of Home Electrical Display Unusually Brilliant. Everett is Center of Storm Reaching Its Height on Thursday Night. One Snohomish county resident is dead, light, power and telephone service was disrupted in varying degrees, fire alarm boxes were tripped and the district generally shaken. Thursday evening and Friday morning by one of the most protracted and severe electrical storm in years")... ("shortly after 9 p.m. ....He got up and opened the door between the bedroom and the kitchen, the door centering the portion of the kitchen devoted to stove and sink. As Kallicot opened the door a flash of lightning entered the house by way of the chimney. It is presumed to have leaped from the stove to the sink. Mr. Kallicot was thrown back into the bedroom from his position in the kitchen doorway. He at first believed himself unhurt. A few minutes later he told the members of the family he was dying.... Mr. Kallicot leaves his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Ashland, living at Green Lake, Seattle, and six sons")
Serena Kallicott, lives in Everett, Washington"

STORM IS FATAL TO ONE | HEAVY DAMAGE DONE BY FIRE IN LOGGING CAMP
Sunnyside Man Dead in Storm Sweeping Area
Knute Kallicot of Sunnyside is Struck by Bolt in Kitchen of Home
Electrical Display Unusually Brilliant. Everett is Center of Storm Reaching Its Height on Thursday Night. One Snohomish county resident is dead, light, power and telephone service was disrupted in varying degrees, fire alarm boxes were tripped and the district generally shaken Thursday evening and Friday morning by one of the most protracted and severe electrical storm in years.
The storm came in the wake of a week of midsummer weather, starting shortly after 8 o'clock and not subsiding until 2 a.m. Between 8 and 11 p.m the storm seemed to center to the north, shifting until Everett was in the midst of heavy peals of thunder and brilliant flashes of lightning.
Reports from various outlying sections characterized the storm as local, centering of the Everett district. To residents of the Standwood and Arlington districts the storm gave the impression of a heavy cannonade. Arlington residents declared that the electrical display was the most brilliant in years.
Districts usually in the heart of the storm area escaped Thursday evening. Wire operators in the Cascades reported their district free from the display. Many Arlington residents centered their attention on the hills near the Ebey Logging company's camp where usually lightning strikes with the accompanying roar of big trees crashing down the hillsides. This district, although feeling the effects of the storm, did not provide such a display Thursday night.
Killed in Home
Knute Kallicot, 55, residing a short distance north of the Sunnyside store, was fatally shocked by lightning at his home shortly after 9 p.m. Mr. Kallicot and his wife had retireda short time before the storm broke. He got up and opened the door between the bedroom and the kitchen, the door centering the portion of the kitchen devoted to stove and sink.
As Kallicot opened the door a flash of lightning entered the house by way of the chimney. It is presumed to have leaped from the stove to the sink. Mr. Kallicot was thrown back into the bedroom from his position in the kitchen doorway.
He at first believed himself unhurt. A few minutes later he told the members of the family he was dying. One of them went to Cavalero's corners and telephoned for a physician. When the letter arrived the Sunnyside man was dead. Coroner Charles H. Fickel was summoned and took charge of the body, bringing it to Everett to the Challacombe and Fickel chapel.
Mr. Kallicot leaves his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Ashland, living at Green Lake, Seattle, and six sons.
The bolt that entered the Kallicot home struck a telephone pole, setting fire to it and disrupting telephone service in that vicinity.
Funeral services for Knute Kallicot, killed by lightning at his Sunnyside home Thursday evening, will be held from the chapel of Challacombe & Fickel Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The Rev. Carl Norgaard will officiate. Interment will [be at Evergreen Cemetery.]
